Vintage 900 Silver Fleur de Lis Cufflinks Heraldic Open Work Sterling Classic
Classic and elegant, these vintage cufflinks feature the Fleur de Lis motif.  The openwork and deeply incised and oxidized (deliberately darkened) lines enhance the scrolling design, adding contrast, interest and dimension so the design "Pops" and the links will stand out strikingly against the fabric of your cuff.   Simple and so wearable.
The fleur de lis (or fleur de lys) is said to be a stylized lily or iris flower and has been important throughout the ages, used by almost all civilizations as a decorative design and/or a symbol, in heraldry, religion and royalty, to name a few.
The cufflinks weigh 8 grams and the faces measure about 5/8" tall by 5/8" wide.
They are signed "900" in a circle on both findings as shown in the last photo.
As can be seen in the first photo (but would be unlikely to be noticed when you wear them) the tip of one of the center "stems" is shorter than the other and may have been cut or broken and apart from that, they are in Very Good vintage condition with expected light surface dirt and scratches.  They have a lovely vintage patina with the even, dark tarnish that comes only with time; cleaning and polishing are left to the buyer's discretion.  There are the expected minor inconsistencies in execution that only add to their hand made charm and these links are really good looking!
Regal and sophisticated, with their sculptural fleurs de lis, these links are handsome, smart and very eye-catching.  Appropriate to any occasion, these versatile cufflinks are ones you will wear all the time.  Although I doubt you will want to part with them, they would make a terrific gift - and will come to you in a gift box, just in case.  This handsome pair of Vintage 900 Silver Fleur de Lis links will make a fine addition to your collection of quality and distinction!
