What is it about carved Tiger's Eye? I remember my father having a signet ring of the stone, carved, like these cufflinks, in the shape of a Roman or Greek soldier. It was his pride and joy and I still get a little ticked off when I think that my brother got the ring and not me. Oh well. Here's a pair of 1950s/1960s unknown maker sterling silver (hallmarked HANDWROUGHT STERLING) cuff links that feature nicely carved tiger eye panels. The soldier depicted is in terrific condition with no chips, cracks or pieces missing - both are cut the same and while my pics show more definition in one than the other, it's only a play of the light. Fronts measure 11/16" x 11/16"; weight of the pair combined is 21.5 grams. Back mechanisms work as they should and the patina to the silver is perfect, just the right amount of tarnishing to highlight the cameos. A polish will certainly render a high shine. Overall, a very nice pair of vintage links for lady or gent!
